2010 Board of Directors

Tom Mendez, Chair

BB&T Insurance Services

Tom is a Vice President and Client Executive specializing in risk management and commercial property and casualty insurance programs for businesses.  He is a graduate of Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.  Tom also serves as a member of the Harrisonburg City School Board and the Massanutten Technical Center board.

 

Bonnie Moyers, Past-Chair

Blue Ridge Community College

Bonnie is the Dean of Workforce Services and Continuing Education at Blue Ridge Community College. Her responsibilities also include leadership for the management and operations of the Robert E. Plecker Workforce Center and the Fine Arts Center. She received her Masters and Bachelors degrees in Public Administration from James Madison University.

Chuck is retired member of the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors. He is a graduate of Cornell University.

Hobey Bauhan, Virginia Poultry Federation

Hobey serves as President of Virginia Poultry Federation. In this position, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Federation. He graduated from Washington and Lee University.

Andrew is the area Vice President of Adecco where he is responsible for leading 8 branch offices. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Bridgewater College.

Rodney is owner of Eagle Carpet. He served in the United States Marine Corp.

Josh Hale

Josh Hale, Farmers & Merchants Bank

Josh is a commercial banker/business development officer at Farmers and Merchants Bank. He manages commercial client relationships with lending, deposit services and cash management. He is a graduate of Arizona State University and a 2008 graduate of the School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Jathan is owner/pharmacist of Medicap Pharmacy. He graduated from James Madison University and from Pharmacy School at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

 Kevin Rose

Kevin Rose, BotkinRose PLC

Kevin is a partner in the Harrisonburg law firm BotkinRose PLC.  His law practice is primarily focused in the areas of civil litigation, construction law, and environmental law.  Kevin received his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1993. He also graduated from the University of Virginia Engineering School in 1984, having received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering

Jim Shaeffer, Sr.

Dr. James M. Shaeffer, Sr., PH.D, James Madison University

Jim recently joined James Madison University as the first Associate Vice Provost for Outreach Programs. In this position, he provides leadership in meeting JMU’s emerging goal of expanding and enhancing their outreach efforts. Jim has been in higher education for over 20 years spending the majority of those years in units supporting outreach efforts.

 

Stacy A. Shiflet, PBGH, LLP

Stacy is an audit manager at PBGH. He has been in-charge and manager on audit engagements in numerous industries. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and has performed investigative and advisory services in numerous cases of occupational fraud and abuse. He graduated from Bridgewater College with a BS Degree in Business Administration. He also holds a CPA certificate from Virginia.

Judith Trumbo

 

Judith Trumbo, Rockingham Memorial Hospital

Judith was recently appointed Transition Planning Director for Rockingham Memorial Hospital. In this capacity, she is responsible for coordinating operational and process changes necessary for the organization to move and function successfully in its new location. She earned a M.B.A. from James Madison University and a B.S.N. from Eastern Mennonite University.

Steve is the Advertising Director for the Daily News-Record and Rockingham Publishing Company. He is a native of Harrisonburg and a graduate of James Madison University.

Chris Weaver, Lantz Construction Company

Chris has served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Lantz Construction Company since September 2008.  Prior to that, he spent five years in the consulting industry with an emphasis in aviation and three years engaged in real estate development and brokerage in Maryland.  Chris is a 1996 graduate of James Madison University and a 1999 graduate of Washington & Lee University School of Law.
