Online Classes:
The Chamber offers Driver Improvement Classes online; however, students must take the final exam at the Chamber during normal business hours. Click here for more details. Fee: $75
In-Person Classes:
The National Safety Council's Driver Improvement Course is a driver training class used internationally to train drivers in preventing motor vehicle collisions. The class's purposes are to:
All classes are held at the Chamber Office, located at 800 Country Club Road, Harrisonburg. Saturday classes start at 8AM and end at 5PM with a lunch break. Upon successful completion of the class, Virginia license holders will receive a certificate and (5) credit points on your driver's license. Out of state license holders may receive the credit points if your state offers a similar program. It remains your responsibility to call your state's DMV office for details. Fee: $55
Spanish Classes:
Classes in Spanish are held at the Harrisonburg Police Department. A minimum of 4 students is required to hold a class. Pre-registration at the Chamber office and payment of $65 is required to reserve a seat.
To Register:
Students must come to the Chamber of Commerce Office, located at 800 Country Club Road to register. Registration hours are from 8:30AM-4:30PM. The course fee (credit card, check or cash) must be paid at time of registration, and a copy of your driver's license will be made at that time. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted with proper ID. Class size is limited to 16 students and is on a first come first serve basis. Call the Chamber for availability.
